It’s Harvest Time!

Ahh, the harvest! The payback, when you get the benefit from all that you have sown. It’s the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the compensation for a job well done. The curious thing about receiving the harvest, however, is it involves preparing and showing up in order to receive it.

A dear friend of mine has a saying that she often imparts while speaking to women about how to receive the blessings in life. She simply states — “you have to show up ready.” Of course, this message also implies that you have done what you need to do by preparing for the moment BEFORE the moment arrives.

I am always intrigued by people who expect the world and yet they have been absent throughout the process of preparation. There are no shortcuts to getting what you think life is supposed to give to you. And very often it means digging through and not passing along your “stuff” to someone else for them to handle.

This job of showing up ready, means you cannot send your best friend, your mama or anyone else to represent you. But rather, you must show up for the preparation and the harvest - yourself.

It is time for each of us to take an inventory of what we have; in other words — our fruit. Brush off the dust that has been collecting on those jewels, instead of looking for new ones and take open possession of your place on our beautiful planet once again. And that means we must harvest our vast resources, before we look for new ones and elevate our minds to move beyond the status quo that is so prevalent in our world today.

We have what we need for the harvest...our minds, moral fiber, resilience, can-do attitudes, living to nurture our families as well as ourselves, caring for our neighbors and those who cannot do for themselves. And finally, live in peace with those around us.

It’s Harvest time! Go out and collect what is yours.
