Fall into Passion

Autumn is a perfect time to be thinking "Passion": that feeling that warms you, that ignites your senses and sweetens life. Purpose combined with passion creates a powerful, focused energy, utilizing both the right and left brain, merging our creativity and logic. Imagine the power of a laser to cut through steel. Passion motivates you to do what you would otherwise be afraid of doing: kissing that girl, speaking in front of an audience, taking a chance.

We all know relationships are fueled by passion and sustained by mutual purpose. Yet recent research shows that a company’s success is related to employees feeling purposeful, like they make a difference.

Being Italian, I can’t imagine life without passion.

Suppressed passion manifests itself in many different ways: feeling useless, unfocused, sad, anxious, angry, and exhibiting compulsive behavior. The solution is to reunite with your passion and zeal for life! What better thing than to love what you do.

My recipe for finding your purpose and passion is to take what you like doing, plus what you are good at, and add some visualization. I define this as focused daydreaming.

Practice by researching your passions; ask around, take on a hobby, volunteer or do a work exchange.

With the holidays approaching, most businesses are looking for temporary holiday help. This is a perfect time to try something different to see if you would like it. What better way to know if it’s right for you then by experiencing? Experience is the best personal wisdom.

Exercise:
First, list what you enjoy or look forward to: the things you do for fun.

Second, list what you are talented at: this what you do for others, without even getting paid.

Next, connect the items from each list that are related. Are there professional possibilities here?

Anything is possible with some imagination and desire.

Visualization:
Imagine doing what you love. What does it look like? What are you smelling, saying, hearing, feeling, when you are now working purposely, motivated by your passion for what you are doing?

Okay, remember when you were five years old, when you are limitless and everything is possible. You know you wanted to be a doctor, pilot, dolphin trainer, a parent!

As you imagine being there, doing that, do you feel inspired and stimulated, or calm and purposeful? Does any of it feel tense or unpleasant? If so, is the inspiration more powerful? Can you feel it pulling you through?

This recipe is simple, yet not easy for some. Maybe there are more 'buts' than 'yes’s'. If that is true for you or someone you know, feel free to contact me to see how I can help you. That is my passion!

“Decide you want it more than you are afraid of it." —Bill Cosby

Do not fear. I have helped clients who found new purpose and passion for what they were already doing; wouldn’t that be easy?

They went from feeling anxious and trapped to having meaning in their life! The only thing that needed to be changed was their perspective.

What if you could see your life in a new way, a way showing your purpose: living a purposeful, passionate life with no regrets.
