October officially kicks off the holiday season. This is the month when masquerade balls and home “fright” parties are all the rave. With tough economic conditions, celebrations don’t necessarily have to be put on hold. With a little planning and creative flair, you can continue to enjoy to gifts of this wonderful season. Here are a few tips that might help:

  1. If planning a celebration at home, THINK THEME!
  2. As much as possible take advantage of as many items already in your home.
  3. Don’t hesitate to borrow items from friends and or family to round out your presentation.
  4. Make simple, inexpensive dishes and present them in a fabulous way.
  5. Search the internet and local newspaper for bargains and stock up.
  6. To cut down on the amount of work you have to do, engage the help of your guests by allowing them to contribute.
  7. Do as much as you can ahead of time and on the day of be sure to take a nice long bubble bath or shower to relax so you can also enjoy the festivities.
