At Last, Movement That’s Can-Do
Mocha Lee, contributing editor
After thirteen years as a fitness consultant, I have finally discovered an action-plan for business professionals. This plan is designed to guarantee a better body in six to eight weeks. My plan, “Mocha’s Method”, is a tried and true approach that I recommend to my clients who are movers and shakers and I also use this plan myself. These clients include business owners, members of Congress, corporate executives and entertainers. What each of these clients have in common is their quest for the following:
- a plan for better health to be able to produce at high levels and increase stamina for their hectic schedules
- a workout that is brief and efficient enough that it can be done quickly — anytime or anywhere
- a regimented routine that will provide a visibly better body, which in turn projects a polished and disciplined image
So what are you waiting for? A new body is just 6 weeks away! Here’s the plan:
Meditate, Move, Manage meals and Motivate yourself.
- Meditate
Five minutes first thing each and every morning — that’s all it takes. To meditate, sit or lay in a quiet place and focus on positive thoughts regarding your upcoming day. Take long, deep breaths during this time. - Move:
Ten minutes to get your blood flowing. Nothing fancy or elaborate. It’s your choice. Whatever type of body activity (floorwork in your bedroom such as 10 push-ups and 20 ab crunches; or a brisk powerwalk outside or on the treadmill. Some clients simply turn on music and dance or stretch). Choose moves that do not require special equipment and simple enough that you can do anywhere and remember to do this immediately following meditation. - Manage Meals
This is important to do throughout the day. Nutrition is key for any health and fitness plan. My advice is to eat five, small balanced meals a day, focusing on plenty of green vegetables, protein and be sure to drink plenty of water. Minimize sugar and processed foods. Moderation is key — since no one is perfect, so it is okay to have your favorites every now and then...but the key is to monitor yourself in settings of abundance such as luncheons, dinners, receptions and fancy banquets. - Motivate
Take time to encourage yourself. At mid-day, give yourself a “pep talk” for 60 seconds. You are your best cheerleader because it is not realistic to assume that others will encourage you and keep you on track. Set your own attainable goal, an “event date”, and stick to that goal no matter what. Daily concentration on why you have adopted this healthier lifestyle will allow you to push yourself and remain dedicated. Motivating yourself works best when you allow yourself to make mistakes.
You work hard at your career, so it is important to work hard on you. Adopt these four steps daily and remain consistent for six to eight weeks and watch your body and your life improve! To learn more, be sure to visit www.mochaleeproductions.com.
