LOVE IS...OBEDIENCE: The Key to Fitness Success
Mocha Lee, Fitness Pro www.mochaleeproductions.com

During the romantic holiday season of Valentine’s Day, many think of love as demonstrations of affection between people who care for one another deeply. Demonstrations of love come in many forms such as: cuddling, sharing gifts and going on dates. True love between people is powerful, but many forget that it’s the true love one provides for herself, that will make the difference when it comes to health and fitness.

During the sixteen years that I have served my clients as a personal trainer, I have seen how successful they become after understanding the importance of obedience in their lives. “If Mocha advises me to follow a certain program, “says my client Ms. Susie, “I make it a point to do exactly what she says because that is how I get results. I have to be 100% committed to the plan!” Ms. Susie is excited that she has lost 30 pounds over the past year that I have been developing her exercise and eating routine.

It is actually quite easy for many of my clients to follow my advice and directions because it takes out the “guess work” they may struggle with on their own, when it comes to getting in shape. Loving yourself means putting yourself first, and prioritizing your schedule to incorporate the rules which say “EE”: Eat right and Exercise! Following the doctor’s orders or the recommendations of your personal trainer shows you are obedient and love long-lasting life.

My “Top Five Fitness Commandments” are based on everyday celebrations of clients that are seeing transformations in their bodies:

  1. Meditate every morning.
  2. Eat breakfast every morning, in addition to four or five small meals throughout the day.
  3. Take daily multivitamins and additional supplements, as needed.
  4. Exercise six days a week (a combination of cardiovascular and toning).
  5. Select/hire an accountability person or professional.

Share with your accountability person WHY you are excited to take care of your health or make positive changes in your body. The passion and hope will help your obedience really stick, even when your motivation is low. Ms. Susie will soon be the same weight she was on her wedding day, which was thirteen years ago!
