Joyful!
Joy is not something that happens to you but rather it is the result of something that happens in you! With all of the uncertainty that exists today, many people find it difficult to wrap their minds around the idea of feeling joyful in an un-joyful world. We are reminded daily of the looming bad days that are on the horizon and the emphasis seems to be on what is not rather than on what can be.
The interesting thing about bad news is not only is it subjective, but most of what is speculated, very rarely ever comes to pass.
Life is a series of good and bad experiences and how we view those experiences is based upon perspective that is always ours to decide.
This holiday season is a reminder that despite all that is wrong in the world, there continues to be so many things that are right. We see it when we experience the miracle of compassion when our neighbors are in distress and the outpouring of countless caring souls as they reach out in an attempt to help restore what was lost. And then there are examples abound of selfless acts during those moments when humanity seems to be bereft of what it means to love thy neighbor and we, once again, reach deep and show that we are still citizens of the most amazing human race.
Joy is a state of mind that is the choosing of each individual. It is not controlled by the elements or occurrences around us, but rather it is dictated by our responses and what we allow to reside within us.
During this holiday season, it is my desire for each of you that you find moments of laughter, love, grace and peace. I wish for each of your families the best of what joy has to offer as you gather together to commemorate the greatest gift that was given to us over two thousand years ago.
Joy is indeed there for the asking! So open your minds and receive what is already yours. Blessings...
Deigratia,
Bonnie
